The Role

Your role will be to support the Finance Internal Communication & Engagement Business Partner with the delivery of an engaging and inspiring communication approach and plan focused on driving engagement, connecting employees to Imperial’s strategy, purpose and behaviours, and clearly articulating the Finance transformation.


Please note: This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The role is based in our Bristol HQ where we have a hybrid working model and therefore, you would be required to be in the office 2 days per week

 

Principle Accountabilities

  • Carryout audit of Finance communication channels, based on analysis of measurement data and audience feedback, recommending channel strategy and plan to ensure channels are fit for purpose and audience-centric
  • Lead on developing and running Finance digital communication channels, ensuring they are consistently refreshed, delivering aligned messaging and have a forward plan of content
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 12-month communication plan which includes group-wide, FIT and Finance activities
  • Support planning and delivery of key Finance communication activities, including Town Halls, Leadership calls and annual leadership face-to-face event
  • Lead on reporting and measurement of communication effectiveness, utilising existing and new sources of data to help inform the communication agenda across Finance
  • Support the delivery of a new reward and recognition programme across the FIT community, including the launch of a colleague recognition scheme and delivery of an annual awards event
  • Support the BAU communication activity of the Finance function, including announcements, messaging, presentations, advice, etc.
  • Seek out and develop news and content from across the Finance team for use across FIT communication channels and play an active part in feeding content to the Group Communications’ content team for use in company-wide channels
  • Provide communication support to ad-hoc projects across the FIT function as required
  • Support the development and implementation of an engaging and comprehensive communication plan for the GBS, ensuring a tailored approach for the multiple audiences across Imperial
  • Provide information and advice on the best use of innovation and new technological developments to improve and enhance our communication approach
  • Support on connecting the Finance, IT and Unify teams with a consistent and aligned approach to communications

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

  • Previous or current experience of providing communication support to Finance function ideally in a large global business
  • Degree educated
  • Previous or current experience of working in a communication team for a large global organisation
  • Skilled in developing and running digital communication channels, including intranets, SharePoint, Poppulo, and Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge and experience of measuring, analysing and reporting on communication effectiveness
  • Ability to develop and implement communication plans
  • Ability to write, adapting style as required to target audience
  • Highly focused on attention to detail and delivering a quality product
  • Ability to work at pace in a fast-moving and dynamic environment
  • Experience of creating, editing and enhancing presentations using PowerPoint
  • Experience of organising and delivering both online and face-to-face events
