The role

Global Category Buyer Logistics

Location: Bristol, Warsaw or Amsterdam 

As Global Category Buyer Logistics, you will have the independence to build and roll-out the procurement strategy for one of the global logistics categories ocean freight, road freight (primary and secondary) or warehousing. You will also play an important role in realizing Imperial Brands’ net zero carbon strategy. You will be part of a new team, reporting into the Head of Logistics Procurement. In this autonomous role, you will be the face of Imperial Brands for our supplier base and interact with our local procurement teams, our Global Logistics Business Partners and the Senior Management of Global Supply Chain.

• An exciting international position in a newly formed team that has the independence to set-up the logistics procurement function
• A global role based in Bristol (UK) or remote, with main stakeholders in Hamburg (DE); at least 20% travel is required
• An interesting combination of managing internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers

Key accountabilities

• Build and roll-out the procurement strategy for a global logistics category
• Contribute to the execution of end-to-end logistics and net zero strategies with key stakeholders
• Ensure forward thinking on logistics procurement, the supply base and commercial value is fit for future
• Pro-actively drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement to drive costs down while maintaining quality and reducing planet impact
• Identify and manage risks; ensuring that suppliers meet our safety, security and quality requirements and respect pour Code of Conduct
• Lead global/regional RFQs, negotiating and contracting, in conjunction with global logistics and local procurement teams
• Research into market trends, inflation and innovations to deploy within the logistics and procurement community

Skills & experience

• Higher education preferably in Supply chain/Logistics or Business
• Business acumen, understanding and drive
• Experience in logistics or procurement of minimum 3 years
• Always sharp in everyday work, likes to find things
• Self-leadership, able to work autonomously
• Results oriented but driven to deliver through collaboration & team leadership
• Well organized, reliable and commercially aware
• Cross cultural experience is preferred
• Experience of using Procurement spend tools & analytics desirable
