The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join Imperial Brands as a Maintenance Engineer at our factory in Joure, Netherlands.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing the Primary Asset Management process, focusing on reliability, maintenance and availability. Key activities include developing and implementing long-term maintenance strategies, managing preventive maintenance plans, and overseeing technical documentation and machine records.

Principal Accountabilities

• Manage and implement maintenance schedules and evaluate maintenance contracts in collaboration with technical procurement
• Oversee the creation of maintenance performance with maintenance partners in collaboration with technical procurement
• Analyse and improve maintenance needs for machines and production installations
• Estimate costs, required activities, and lead-time for planned maintenance tasks
• Design and execute long-term maintenance strategies for machinery and installations to ensure optimal performance.
• Improve the reliability and availability of primary production machinery through continuous improvements and technical upgrades.
• Discuss findings and their impact on maintenance with technicians, operators, buyers, engineers, the FTS department, and external suppliers (both national and international)

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, particularly in an industrial setting.
• Ability to conduct failure analysis, identify root causes, and propose solutions to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Proven experience in developing and managing preventive maintenance strategies.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal teams (technicians, engineers, operators) and external suppliers (national and international).
• Competent in analysing maintenance data, calculating ROI, and drafting investment proposals.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
