Our Locations
From Northern Germany to the world
Reemtsma is clearly committed to Germany as a business location. We are an important consumer goods manufacturer, international employer and committed provider of professional training. Roundabout 1,700 people work at our two locations in Hamburg and Langenhagen near Hanover. Founded in Erfurt in 1910, our home has been Hamburg for over a century, and we are firmly rooted in Northern Germany.
Hamburg
Hamburg without Reemtsma? For us, it is an inconceivable notion! The Hanseatic city has been home to our company headquarters since 1923. Since the beginning of 2023, it has been located on the site of the former marzipan factory in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld and offers a state-of-the-art working environment for collaborative work. Thanks to energy-efficient core renovation of the site, optimised use of space, further reduction of waste and on-site e-charging stations, we continue to successfully reduce our carbon footprint at the new headquarters.
Hamburg is not only the seat of Reemtsma's administration. From here, we control all marketing and sales activities in the German market as well as in the DACH Cluster. In addition, important global functions of our corporate group are based in Hamburg, including parts of Global Supply Chain, the Global Duty Free and Export business and responsibilities for the Nordic markets. A large part of Imperial Brands Science's global research, development and innovation also takes place in our Group's chemical, biological and physical laboratories as well as in the "Sense Hub" in Hamburg, which has been newly opened at the end of 2023.
Presently, approximately 730 individuals are employed at Reemtsma's Hamburg location.
Langenhagen
Reemtsma has also been firmly associated with the Langenhagen site near Hanover for nearly one hundred years. In 1928, Reemtsma took over the local Constantin Cigarettenfabrik and thus secured an important production site in northern Germany. Today's Reemtsma plant in Langenhagen went into operation in 1971.
Around 610 employees plan and produce more than 1,700 different articles there, which are exported to over 80 countries. 25 trainees are currently completing their vocational training at the Reemtsma plant in Langenhagen, where they have access to a specially equipped training workshop.
As one of the most important production and logistics locations of Imperial Brands worldwide, we are driving the transition to a low-carbon economy in many ways at the Reemtsma plant in Langenhagen. In this way, Reemtsma is making an important contribution to the implementation of our group's global sustainability strategy.
