OHSE Manager – Health / Safety / Environment

The Role

The OHS & Environmental Sustainability Manager – based in Hamburg (Occupational Health, Safety and Environment) will be responsible for developing and deploying local health, safety and environmental sustainability initiatives and procedures. The role will provide technical expertise on key issues related to health, wellbeing and safety of our employees, and to environmental impact assessment considering best industry practices and standards.

The role works closely with the internal Occupational Health & Safety Specialist, on auditing processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a customized Health & Wellbeing program tailored to the diverse needs of our business functions, aligning with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with various functions to enhance overall Health & Safety performance through effective measures and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards and regulations.
  • Establish and test emergency preparedness and response plans, ensuring documentation and maintenance.
  • Identify environmental and safety risks, develop action plans, and facilitate their implementation.
  • Provide comprehensive safety practices and policy training to employees and contractors, fostering a safety-conscious culture.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with professional qualifications in OHS&E / ESG management.
  • 4 or more years of experience in a global corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in conducting internal and supplier audits based on industry standards.
  • Experience in Carbon Footprint Reduction and Environmental Discharges preferred; NFR system knowledge is desirable.
  • Strong training and communication skills, including stakeholder management.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
