The role

The role aims to ensure the deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Imperial Operating System (IoS) across Imperial Brands. It leads the transformation of work methods globally, based on the IoS, to enhance organizational effectiveness and engage all Supply Chain Teams and employees in the company's strategy. The purpose of the role is to drive and enhance policies and standards around Global Supply Chain Operations, focusing on continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and systems. This involves IoS governance, development, and the implementation of processes like the Mini Business Unit concept and Loss Tree approach to eliminate losses across the global manufacturing network.

Key accountabilities

  • Working with the Manufacturing Excellence, Factory Management Teams, Centers of Excellence and GSC Leadership Team develop, set the pace and implement Imperial Operating System across the sites
  • Outline direction and deployment of the IoS, to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with best practice – standardisation
  • Take active part and support  creation and implementation of best practice Manufacturing Excellence vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Cultural & mindset changes: transforms culture to maintain continuous improvement efforts beyond process & project activities and change their way of working to a Lean way of working. Management- & team coaching will be one of the means to achieve such mindset shift.
  • Build capability in Lean ways of work by engaging All employees in realisation of Company Mission, Vision, Strategy and promoting our behaviours
  • Responsible for the successful management and implementation of business improvement projects/initiatives across the business by developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team and building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental and Quality requirements are adhered to

Skills & experience

  • Work with the Manufacturing Excellence, Factory Management Teams, Centers of Excellence, and GSC Leadership Team to develop, set the pace, and implement the Imperial Operating System (IoS) across the sites.
  • Outline direction and deployment of IoS to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with best practices. Lead IoS deployment governance and Loss Tree development and deployment.
  • Transform the organizational culture to maintain continuous improvement efforts beyond process and project activities, promoting a Lean way of working through management and team coaching.
  • Engage all employees in the realization of the company's mission, vision, and strategy, promoting lean behaviors and problem-solving leadership by creating standards, role modeling, and coaching.
  • Manage and implement business improvement projects/initiatives across the business by developing an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements.
  • Ensure the accessibility, accuracy, and topicality of the Manufacturing Knowledge Library.
